Regional Championships are the pathway for players in the United States to qualify for Magic: The Gathering Pro Tour and World Championships. Three times a year at SCG CON events, Star City Games will host a Regional Championship featuring a $130,000 prize pool, 64 invitations to the Pro Tour, and two invitations to the World Championships.

*Beginning with Season 3 – Round 2 the US Regional Championship program will expand to have two Regional Championships each Round. Every Regional Championship will feature a $100,000 prize pool, 32 invitations to the Pro Tour, and two invitations to the World Championships for a total of $200,000 in prizes, 64 invitations to the Pro Tour, and four invitations to the World Championships each Round.

Regional Championship Qualifiers are events hosted by WPN game stores that qualify players for the United States Regional Championships at SCG CON.

• RCQs held at WPN stores.
• RCQs held at Destination Events such as SCG CON. 
• Players that are qualified for a Pro Tour are automatically qualified for the associated Regional Championship.

*Beginning with Season 3 – Round 2, players that earn two or more qualifications in a round may participate in both Regional Championships for that round.

You can find RCQs near you through the Wizards Event Locator. You can search specifically for RCQs by selecting “Premier Events”, inputting your Zip Code and checking the filter for “RCQ”.

You should receive an email confirming your qualification. If you have not received this email a week after you won your qualification, please contact the organizer of the event where you qualified.

You will also be preregistered for the Regional Championship on Melee. Sign into Melee and click "Register" and fill out the required information to confirm your attendance. If you received a confirmation email, but are not preregistered for the Regional Championship, verify that the email where you received the confirmation matches the email on your Melee account. If they do not, contact the organizer and provide them the email associated with your Melee account to have your qualification updated.

*Beginning with Season 3 – Round 2, players will be preregistered for the first Regional Championship event of the round.

At the conclusion of the first Regional Championship of the Round the following players will be preregistered for the second Regional Championship of the Round:
- Qualified players that did not participate in the first Regional Championship of the Round
- Players who earned two qualifications in the Round

Yes! Qualified players are eligible to continue participating in RCQs and Destination Events. Note that invitations do not pass down, and there is not benefit to earning multiple invitations.
Please note that this is a change from the previous system.  

*Beginning with Season 3 – Round 2, Players that earn multiple qualifications in a Round may participate in both Regional Championships in that Round. Note that invitations still do not pass down, and there is no benefit to earning more than two qualifications.
